The second TEDxSuva event was officially announced today, confirmed for Saturday 6 May this year.
This year the event will again feature live speakers from diverse backgrounds sharing ideas, stories and inspiration from Fiji to a local and global audience, focused on the theme An Ocean of Ideas.
The public helped develop the theme through submissions of poetry, prose and creative expression, with organisers receiving a diverse range of entries.
Today organisers announced the winners of the TEDxSuva writing competition: Alex Elbourne – 1st Prize; Clarence Dass and Nikola Komailevuka – Runners Up. Alex wins a ticket to the TEDxSuva 2017 and a $500 cash prize. Organisers thanked all entrants for their submissions, adding that due to the high quality of the entries, both runners up were also selected and will each receive a ticket to the event in May.
To see the winning submissions, visit TEDxSuva on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or http://tedxsuva.com.
Ticket registration for the free event will open on Saturday 1 April for anyone interested in joining the 100 audience members at this year’s event.
Organisers have assured TEDxSuva sponsors and potential audience members that this year’s event will keep the spotlight trained on Fiji’s diverse and vibrant ideas for sharing on the TEDx world stage, showcasing not just its tourism image but also the depth, intellect, Pacific spirit and culture that permeates the land and its people.
